Movement EducationCenter for Movement Education and Research Martha Eddy's Somatic Movement Therapy Training (SMTT), founded in 1991, teaches how to attune with one's own and then others' movement habits by skillfully listening, observing and touching. Learn to identify and support anatomically efficient and expressive movement (using the Laban/Bartenieff system) and the underlying developmental and physiological activity (using BodyMind Centering® principles). SMTT students practice matching clients' needs and motivations, and using improvisational tools to discover healthy and dynamic behavior together. This training is designed for working with people of all ages and abilities. Drawing on their own experiences, cancer survivors help others address the many emotional and practical issues that arise from a cancer diagnosis. SHARE empowers individuals and communities to advocate for increased access to care, improved treatment modalities and quality of and increased research funding. SHARE's services include hotlines in English and Spanish, with capacity in 12 other languages, support groups, wellness programs, educational meetings, and advocacy activities.
